Archan Chakraborty, born in a respectable family of Kolkata, started his musical career, since his early childhood. Trained under the expert tutelage of Shri Abhijeet Bandyopadhyay, (A maestro of Bengali Music World), Archan's assets is his fresh and powerful voice. Comfortable in genres of folk music and soft rock as well. He has largely experimented with a wide range of folk songs, starting from Abbasuddin to Nirmalendu Choudary, Hemanga Biswas to Lalan Fakir.
Archan stood 1st in a competition organized by HMV, in the year 1998. And his 1st Album was released named "Door Akasher Tara", which was a compilation of old nostalgic melodies. It was a remake of those golden period songs and his journey started. Later on he worked with T series, and many other music companies of India.
Archan was the lead vocalist of Bangla band KAYA, a famous band of Kolkata. And travelled almost worldwide. Performed in 16 leading cities of USA in the years 2007 and 2010. In 2012, he just moved from the band and had started singing as a solo performer and his 1st basic Bengali album is going to be released in this coming September, from Dhoom Music, a leading name in the Audio section of Kolkata music industry. This album called Podokkhep, is a collection of fresh newly composed songs. Eminent personalities of Bengali music world have rendered their contribution in this album. Archan have done playback for 3 Bengali films and more are yet to come. The Listeners will be moved by his intensity and purity.
