His music speaks what the heart seeks, taking your soul on the divine journey to encounter The Almighty. Striking chords that render the heart, Brian Colaco is mindful enough to express a balance in his music in order to cater to the young and old alike.
His musical journey began after He had a divine experience of the Holy Spirit while attending a Youth retreat in Kerela in the year 1998. He gave his heart to Jesus and felt His divine master call to serve God's people through this talent. Somehow he was unable to take formal lessons in music, but he claims that The Holy Spirit has been his real Guru.
His interest in western music has been His greatest influence for his creative ideas and song writing skills. Besides he loves to infuse Indian flavours into his songs by blending touches of Indian sounds into his tracks. The instruments are modestly chosen and music composed with passion. The music arrangement sufficiently suit the aura and mood that he wants to generate into the heart and mind of the listener.
He stands more as a songwriter than as a soloist since he believes that this will give opportunities to more musicians and singers to offer their talents back to God beside adding variations and styles to the song. Brian feels that this is what unites us as one body of Christ and together we offer ourselves as a bouquet of fragrant flowers to the giver of our talents. Thereby care is taken that the song gets justice and its purpose is met rather than unknowingly stealing from the glory that belongs to God alone. The focus of Christian music should be to give to the listener an experience of the love of God.
Various styles of music like Pop, Rock, Hip hop are used keeping in time with modern music but unnecessary hype and harshness is carefully avoided making them generally acceptable. The music varies from a gentle soothing track like, "My God whom I adore" to a dynamic track like "Saviour Come". The groovy track "For Him alone", has its charm in the blend of duet voices featuring Giselle and Joanne whose individual personalities give this song its character.
The album Saviour Come has been influenced by books entitled "True Life In God" which speak about the message of Christ to our present generation. The title song "Saviour Come" resound the cry of our soul longing for its Saviour. The song embellished and driven using Indian instruments like Sitar and tabla, make it intense but easier to relate.
After being in Mumbai for five years teaching musical instruments like Guitar, Keyboard & Piano, as well as learning the art of Computer based music production, Brian is presently back in Goa in order to set up his own Song Studio. He has produced several albums and singles while in Mumbai. Being part of a band "Shepherds Voice", he finds great joy in seeing people come together to Praise and Worship our creator.
