Rimita Mukherjee, since her childhood has been inclined towards music and classical dance. She has learnt Kathak for 9 years and has completed “Nritya Bhushan”. She has been fortunate enough to have learnt Music from Pt Jagdish Prasad of Patiala Gharana, Kalyanji Bhai Shah, Pt Ravi Shankar Sharma, Jotileshwar Mukherjee. She has also learnt “Rabindra Sangeet” and “Nazrul Geeti” from her mother who possesses a degree from Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkotta.
She has been staying in Mumbai since 1995 as a professional vocalist and has done a lot of prestigious shows and recordings. The urge of creating good music has led her to compose music also. At present she is enjoying her music in terms of singing and composing as well as stage shows.
