Shekhar comes from a family of Music Lovers. After finishing his Masters in Computer Science, Shekhar moved to Bay Area and started learning Hindustani Classical Music with Pt. Laxmi Ganesh Tiwari. Apart from Panditji, Shekhar learned from other teachers like Tulika Ghosh and Mahesh Kale. He is currently continuing his learning with Mahesh Kale in San Jose.
After realizing his passion for Music Production, Shekhar took part time classes while working and finished a Degree in Music Production from Mission College, Santa Clara.
Shekhar is actively involved with lot of Creative groups in the Bay Area. He is part of Indian Theatre called Naatak and also Dance Company named Project Pulse. Shekhar’s fluency in Hindi poetry makes him a very valuable member in all these creative groups.
He was the writer of a Dance Show called ‘Taathastu’ which portrayed 4 different stories through Dance and Poetry.
He also Wrote, Directed and Produced a very well received show called ‘Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi’. It was a creative mix of Naatak, Poetry and Live music. Shekhar’s vision is to collaborate with different artists and art forms and create something new, something fresh, something different. His company ‘Mausaki’ is focused on bringing artists together.
His first album ‘Kis Raaste’ features well known singers like Kumar Sanu, Vinod Rathod as well as Local Bay Area singers like Bharath Rajan. Shekhar is already working on his second album ‘Abhi Tau’ which is scheduled to release in March.
Shekhar is also fascinated by Video production. He always has something to tell through his videos. Shekhar conceptualized both the music videos. He is also working on few short stories that he will be directing.
