Meet the versatile Melody Queen Vijayaa Shankar, whose maiden pop album ‘Teri Meri Raah’ has won her critical acclaim as well as popular mass appeal.

In 'Teri Meri Raah', vivacious Vijayaa Shankar has sung nine memorable songs while the inimitable Lesle Lewis has composed music and produced the album. The uniqueness of the album is its sound completely acoustic giving importance to the vocalists’ voice texture and melody. ‘Teri Meri Raah’ (Leslie Lewis is the music director and composer; lyrics by Rajesh Johri) is a classical rock fusion that appeals to with abandon. ‘Do Anjane’ (Leslie Lewis is the music director and composer; lyrics by Rajesh Johri) is a romantic melody that will have young couples going all mushy-mushy. ‘Tu na jaane’ (Leslie Lewis is the music director and composer; lyrics by Rajesh Johri) is sung in a unique Bosanova style.

In the video 'Teri Meri Raah' is about a girl's journey in love and how two strangers get attracted to each other, but both take a while to express. It deals with their meeting and separation. Finally, the girl going ahead and expresses her love for the boy.The album is already creating a rage in Bangalore. Several film personalities and music directors including stars such Tharun Chandra and director Prashanth Raj, Indrajit Lankesh and Gurukiran have appreciated the album. The title track and 'Tu Na Jaane...' is mesmerising and is adored by the classes and masses. Vijayaa has sung several popular Kannada movie songs from Love Guru, Double Decker, Aaadu Aata Aadu and so on.

Vijayaa Shankar has sung over 50 jingles and songs in over 14 languages.She has sung for leading composers such as Leslie Lewis, Louis Banks, Shankar Mahadevan, Iliyarajaa and Vidya Sagar amongst others. She has also sung jingles for Salim Sulaiman, Vishal Shekhar, Sameeruddin and Ram Sampat. She has also sung compositions of Pritam in various regional languages. She has sung the theme track of the recently staged Broadway musical by Shruti Merchant by the name Taj Express, which had music by Monty Sharma of Saawariya fame. She has done playback for over 10 to 12 movies of which 2 Hindi under production; 4 Tamil songs under production.

The film ‘Love Guru’ got her the ‘Akka’ awards held in New Jersey for the best promising new artiste of the year 2009-2010. She had also been a part of ‘Naada Vaibhavam’ a mega event held by the Art of living Sri Sri Ravi Shankar in February 2010. This presented her with an opportunity to sing songs with other prominent vocalists.

She was a part of the classical symphony orchestra held by Padmasri Sri Lalgudi Jayraman trust for the music academy in Chennai. She has penned and composed corporate themes for Bajaj and Amway; and songs for children’s animation series.
