Parents Association Thalassemic Unit Trust (PATUT)

PATUT, headed by Padmashri Pankaj Udhas as its President for over 25 years, provides end to end solution on Thalassaemia, including Awareness, Detection, Prevention, Test for matching of Bone Marrow of Donor and Donee, sponsoring Bone Marrow Transplant of Thalassaemia Major Children under ten years of age and Counselling for the last five years, PATUT has concentrated on Bone Marrow Transplants (BMT) for Children up to the age of 10 years, which is the only cure available for Thalassaemia Major, Sickle Cell Anaemia and A Plastic Anaemia Patients. Patut has successfully fully funded 30 bone marrow transplants and partly funded more than 260 bone marrow transplants in the last 5 years. Every year 10,000 children with Thalassaemia Major are born in India, which constitutes 10% of the total number in the world and one out of every 8 carriers of Thalassaemia worldwide lives in India.

Cancer Patients Aid Association (CPAA) is a 53 year old non-profit organisation that addresses cancer as a health problem through it's distinctive philosophy of 'Total Management of Cancer'. CPAA works side-by-side with the medical fraternity, focusing on activities encompassing Awareness, Early Detection, Support for treatment, Guidance and Counseling, Rehabilitation, Research Studies and Advocacy. The primary concern of CPAA is to meet the needs of poor Cancer patients who do not have access nor can afford cancer treatment. It was Mr. Sapru who coined the phrase 'Total Management of Cancer', the credo that has been the cornerstone of CPAA's philosophy all these years. It is his vision and farsightedness that has seen a gem of an idea mature into the well-respected association that CPAA is today. About Us

Khazana - A Festival of Ghazals

KHAZANA is an initiative started in 2002 by Pankaj Udhas, Anup Jalota, and Talat Aziz in partnership with CPAA (Cancer Patients Aid Association) and PATUT (Parents Association Thalassemic Unit Trust), in the form of a Festival of Ghazals that supports and funds Cancer and Thalassemic Patients.

CPAA (Cancer Patients Aid Association) works alongside the medical fraternity, focusing on education, awareness, early detection, support to treatment, guidance, counseling, rehabilitation and research. While the primary concern is to meet the needs of poor Cancer patients who otherwise would not be able to benefit from the best treatments that medical science has to offer, CPAA reaches out to patients from all walks of life in every possible way.

PATUT (Parents Association Thalassemic Unit Trust) is the national non–profit health organization dedicated to serving patients afflicted with various forms of Thalassemia most notably the major forms of this generic blood disease.

KHAZANA ARTIST ALOUD TALENT HUNT is a unique, Pan-India talent hunt that seeks to amalgamate the magic of Ghazals. Hungama Artist Aloud enables aspiring singers to be a part of the magnificent art of Ghazal singing. The Talent Hunt gives winners an exclusive chance to perform with legends like Talat Aziz, Rekha Bhardwaj, Anup Jalota, Pankaj Udhas, Sudeep Banerji and many more.

The Talent Hunt has been truly appreciated and welcomed by thousands of Ghazal lovers across 200 unique cities of India witnessing an overwhelming response from 10,000+ participants in its previous 4 editions.

Talat Aziz

Born in Hyderabad, India to Abdul Azeem Khan and Sajida Abid, a famous Urdu writer and poet. Talat Aziz took his initial training in music from Kirana Gharana. He was trained primarily by Ustad Samad Khan and later by Ustad Fayaz Ahmed who were famous classical music singers. After the initial training, Talat decided to learn music from music maestro Mehdi Hassan. On many occasions, like on a concert tour of the US and Canada in 1986 he shared the same stage with him on concerts in India and abroad. His first major performance was in Hyderabad at a place called King Kothi. He sang before a crowd of over 5,000. He also trained under classical music Ustad Samaad Khan and Faiyaz Ahmed Khan and for his ghazal training he became a disciple of Mehdi Hassan in 1978. With the help of Jagjit he released his first album in 1979, Talat also sang some ghazals in films like Umrao Jaan and Bazaar, which were super-hit. Talat has also composed music for TV serials and has also acted in several of them. He has also composed music for teleserials. Recently released a ghazal album with Pankaj Udhas and Anup Jalota called Destiny.

REKHA BHARDWAJ

A renowned Indian playback singer who is known for her distinctive style of singing, she has sung over 50 superhit Bollywood songs. A National Award winner for the song 'Badi Dheere Jali' from the movie Ishqiya. She won Global Indian Music Award as Best Duet for the song Kabira with Tochi Raina. She's won IIFA, GIMA, Filmfare and many more awards. Rekha has performed over 500+ concerts all over the globe.

Anup Jalota

Padmashri Anup Jalota son of Bhajan exponent Padmashri Pt. Purshottam Das Jalota took his first lesson in music from his renowned father when he was barely 7 years old. Between then and now he has matured into a singer par excellence to become a leading and most sought after performer of the day. He has earned a record number of 100 Gold, platinum and Multi-platinum Discs. He has performed over 5000 live concerts and released more than 200 albums of Ghazals and Bhajans over 30 years.

PANKAJ UDHAS

Pankaj Udhas sang 'Ae mere watan ke Logon' in front of a mammoth crowd winning applause at the age of Eleven. Determined to succeed he continued his struggle and ultimately, found his destiny in Ghazals. Begum Akhtar and Mehndi Hasan became his idols, Urdu his language and Ghazal his life. He did his first Ghazal concert in 1978 and since then has traveled to every country of the world, performed in every prestigious auditorium on the planet and has had the privilege to entertain the World's most renowned people. His film song 'Chithi Aayee Hai' from 'Naam' has brought tears in the eyes of every music lover around the globe. For his outstanding contribution in the field of Ghazal singing and Social Service President of India conferred the 'Padma Shri' Award to him on 29th March 2006 at Rashtrapati bhavan in New Delhi.

SUDEEP BANERJI

Sudeep Banerji is a very versatile singer composer who got his training under the legendary singer 'Mallika-e-Ghazal' Begum Akhtar's foremost disciple Smt Shanti Hiranandji. Sudeep is the only male singer to have followed the tradition of Light Classical Music like Dadra, Thumri and Ghazals. Recently Sudeep released his album on Mirza Ghalib called 'Ghaliban'. Sudeep has also composed music for Bollywood films, latest being a social film starring Soha Ali Khan called 'Chaarfutiya Chokre'. Sudeep has travelled to various countries for his concerts.
